Lets Stock About It – Controlling the GTA 5 Stock Market

Hello fellow criminals!

I will now try my best to explain the other method I use to make money off of LCN and BAWSAQ.  This method is more player driven as it doesn’t require you to do a mission, but it is also very frustrating as there are a lot of unknowns.  I don’t have a fancy name for (which sucks) so what it pretty much boils down to is manipulating the stock market.  How I do this required some research on my part of the various businesses within Grand Theft Auto 5.  I looked over the two available markets and targeted a company.  When I first tried this out I noticed that Up-n-Atom Burger was selling for around $14 bucks a share, so I bought about 25k in shares.

If you don’t know by the name, Up-n-Atom Burger is…well…a burger joint.  An in-game fast food restaurant.  There are a few other fast food joints in GTA V.  The only one I was able to find listed on the market at the time was Burger Shot.  The others are…

  • Pizza This
  • Chihuahua Hotdogs
  • Cluckin’ Bell
  • Ring of Fire Chilli House
  • Burger Shot
  • Taco Bomb
  • Wigwam Burger

Now on first instinct I pressed start and looked for these restaurants on my map.  This is when my frustration started.  None of these businesses are marked on the map.  I wasn’t able to find a single food joint.  This was after I spent the 25k so I had to figure something out.  I could have spent that cash on something important…like clothes.  I tried searching for locations on the internet (the real internet), but that didn’t work.  It looks like no one really knows where these places are at, so eventually I just started doing side missions.  Luckily, while I was driving I managed to find a Burger Shot.  Unfortunately, this was when I found out that I couldn’t enter the establishment.  How was I supposed to wreck and rob the place if I couldn’t go in it?

With a sad face, I pulled out of the parking lot and headed towards the freeway.  While out on the road I noticed three trailer trucks.  Each had company logos belonging to one of the listed fast food joints.  Lucky for me one of them belong to Burger Shot.  Oh yea!!  So I blew them all up.  Yep, just wrecked them.  Matter of fact, for the next 30 minutes I became a freeway pirate.  Eventually this lead to a 4 star wanted level, and I had to run from the cops.  After dodging the law, I pulled over and checked on my stocks.  Up-n-Atom was up by about 15%.  Money in the bank baby, money in the bank….

I looked all over the internet to confirm that stuff like this works, and found other stories similar to this one, but I have to admit that I wasn’t able to replicate these results.  I’m not 100% sure if I got lucky, or if I really just manipulated the freaking stock market.  I’ve heard that other players have made a decent living investing in one particular car brand and then destroying every other moving vehicle on the road.  I haven’t tried it yet, but I’ll give it a shot and let everyone know if it works.  I think my biggest problem right now with the GTA 5 stock market is me not understanding the scope of this gameplay mechanic.  It’s not very clear what I can actually do to the various businesses listed.  If I listen to one radio station all the time does it boost it’s value?  What about the BAWSAQ investments?  This market is supposed to be based on community actions.  Haha if only I invested this much thought in my REAL LIFE.

Either way, this is what I got right now.  The game has only been out a few days, so a lot of this will be figured out over the next few weeks.  It just sucks because I want to know right now.  I hope that this helps someone find the answers.  If it hasn’t take a quick peep at these money making techniques!

  1. […] The second way is the player controls completely. Take a look at the market and find companies with very low values?. These are the stocks you want to buy. Choose one to begin with and invest as much as you want. The more the better, of course. After you ‘re done, go full cause chaos competing for business. Employees were killed there, and the destruction of their wares, and destruction of buildings. Really mess them! Just like the above process, when the price goes down rival company that invests in will go up. Sell ! Sell! Sell ! ! as seen in there. […]
